Onsen (Hot spring) information

The source of Nekonaki Onsen Shikibu-no-Yakata Izutsuya's hot spring is a radioactive well, which is rare even in Japan. The water flows from an alkaline, simple, weakly radioactive cold mineral spring.

Enjoy the warm waters of Nekonaki Onsen, which are said to be effective at improving health and treating a variety of medical conditions. Since ancient times, these waters have been used to treat chronic pain and stiffness in muscles and joints, muscle stiffness from motor paralysis, rheumatoid arthritis, autonomic instability, sensitivity to cold, and to relieve fatigue.

The baths at Izutsuya are separate for men and women. There is a large, main indoor bath and an outdoor bath. We hope you'll enjoy soaking in the onsen at Izutsuya to relieve your fatigue.

There are a number of sightseeing facilities in the Ishikawa Town area where Izutsuya is located, including a golf course and park. Ishikawa Town also offers dining facilities and souvenir shops, which we hope you will visit while you are out seeing the sights.

There are also numerous places and facilities perfect for sightseeing in the towns and villages surrounding Ishikawa Town. Make sure to visit them before or after your stay at Izutsuya.

Access information

Izutsuya is located in Ishikawa Town. Ishikawa Town is in Fukushima Prefecture in the Tohoku region of Japan. It is located approximately 20 minutes from Fukushima Airport by car.

When coming by car, take the Tohoku Expressway to the Yabuki I.C. and change to Abukuma Kogen Rd. Take the turnoff for Rte. 118, and that will take you to Izutsuya.

When coming by train, take the Tohoku Shinkansen to Koriyama Station and change to the JR Suigun Line. Get off the train at Iwaki-Ishikawa station, and Izutsuya is a 12-minute walk from the station.
